About Maria...
Hello!
My name is Maria and I'm from Minneapolis, Minnesota. I'm a mail processing clerk at the post office and have seen many Postcrossing cards in transit which is how I became interested in joining.
I love bright colors, night time city skylines and starry skies. I absolutely love art - illustrations, anime/manga, paintings, drawings, watercolor, contempory and traditional, photography (especially black & white), art supplies - basically anything to do with art!
I really like shaped cards and would absolutely love, love, love any Gotochi cards or the similar shaped cards from China. For postcrossers from Taiwan, I love the postcards shaped like a building. They are all so cute!
I love cute and kawaii - Hello Kitty is my favorite!
I love holidays, even ones I may not celebrate! I welcome any type of holiday card given it's the appropriate time of year (Easter cards around Easter, Christmas cards in December ^_^) I also really like festivals and celebrations and seeing pictures of people dressed in their native clothing.
I love learning about history. I like old buildings and architecture, especially castles, temples and shrines. I find mythology fascinating and I love dragons, fairies and other mythical creatures. I really like astrology and anything with my sign (Aries, ram) or year of the rooster/year of the ram would be awesome!
Other random things I like -
*teddy bears
*rainbows - real or illustrated, everyday objects arranged in rainbow colors
*waterfalls
*fountains
*stormy weather
*northern lights
*butterflies
*stained glass
*interesting/beautiful trees
*fireworks
*space - planets, stars, comets, shooting stars
*celebrities & royals (old & new)
*flowers - especially roses and daisies
*coffee, beer & cigarettes
*food! especially sweet treats :)
*puppies - especially Jack Russells (My dog is a Jack Russell) but I love all puppies!
*any baby animals!
*illustrated map cards (states and countries)
*Matryoshka dolls
*from the US - state fair cards
These are just some things I enjoy but I would love anything you find interesting and would like to share :)
One last request, if you don't know what to write, please send me your favorite quote and why. If it's in your native language, could you please provide a translation? I love quotes and am starting a project involving quotes.
p.s. My favorites are a mix of both cards I have received and cards I would love to receive but haven't. I really like the idea of using the favorites solely as a "wish list" but I can't resist marking some of the ones I have received as favorites if I absolutely love them!
