About Elizabeth...

Greetings!

My name is Elizabeth, I am a mom of two boys. I am also a Boy Scout volunteer, both of my boys are Eagle Scouts. Before I became a mom I was a school librarian, I love to read and collect books!

I was fortunate to marrying into a large family. My husband's parents immigrated to America from the Netherlands. My own heritage is German, French, Danish and British.

My parents both loved to travel, visiting many different and exotic countries around the world, and passed the "traveling bug" on to me. When I was in college I spent a summer in Ireland and loved it. Before our boys were born my husband and I spent a month driving around England, Wales and Scotland staying at hotels with "history" to them, visiting all the sites along the way.

Our last trip to Europe was with our Boy Scout troop when we journeyed to England for the World Jamboree celebrating the 100th year of Scouting. From England we took the ferry across to France where we spent time in Paris and I fell in love with the architecture and beautiful buildings and bridges.

Besides an interest in traveling I love history and genealogy which really ties in with traveling. The further I delve into my family history the more I want to learn about the countries my ancestors came from and the time periods they lived in.

I look forward to receiving postcards from around the world and learning something about you so please write a message.

I would love real postcards that show:

~ Any Holiday Postcards (Christmas, Halloween, or a holiday your country celebrates)
~ Old Parisian or French buildings, the Eiffel Tower
~ Royals from any Country (From Russia I would love a card of the Czar and his family)
~ Paintings or drawings of cities
~ Old Black and White, or Vintage Postcards
~ Inge Look (I love her cards)
~ Sulamith Wulfing
~ Dreamy or Romantic Postcards
~ Commemorate any Special Events (in past or present time such as the Queen's Jubilee, Royal weddings, any Olympics, WWII, or an event in your country)
~ Historic Sites or Buildings
~ Maps (Cities, Counties, Countries, or Metros)
~ Coca-Cola
~ Postcards of Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts
~ Mailboxes or Telephone Booths
~ Books or people reading
~ Angels or Fairies
~ Winter scenes

You can also check out my "favorites" to see some of the postcards I would love to receive. Remember they can be sorted by country!

I do enjoy seeing the stamps on the postcards so please do not put them through a meter, without a stamp(s), because the stamps are a part of the fun!

Happy Postcrossing!
Elizabeth
