I was born in the Czech Republic, in the city of Ostrava, where I live my whole life and I love it – especially my city. From our region come many famous persons, such as the tennis player Ivan Lendl, football players Marek Jankulovski and Milan Baroš, the psychoanalytist Sigmund Freud and the composer Leoš Janáček.
I work as economist in a power-producing company.
About my hobbies, I’m into rock and metal music – I love to go to concerts and festivals. In the town of Zlín (the city of Bata shoemaker) not far from Ostrava takes place ‘Masters of Rock’, the biggest rock and metal festival in our country. In my city we have also a rock festival called ‘Ostrava v plamenech’ (Ostrava in Flames) but it is not as big as Masters. I hope it will grow up in the future. My favourite music bands are Powerwolf, AXXIS, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Metallica and Deep Purple. The biggest music festival in Ostrava is called ‘Colours of Ostrava’. I’ve also been there twice. But there aren’t many rock bands or singers. It is more like a pop or alternative music event.
I’m a big sport fan, too. I often go to watch ice-hockey. Our team called HC Vítkovice is every year in the first league in our country. In Ostrava takes place also the Golden Spike – athletic meeting, where I go every year, Usain Bolt took part in it.
I love to travel and learn about life in other places, regions and countries. I think it’s not possible to see the whole world in one short human life, so I also watch documents in the TV sometimes to see some places, which I don’t have chance to visit because of money or time. And that’s also why I join the Postcrossing community – I can learn by it about new places. I always search on the internet the place, where I send the postcard or, in the contrary, the place, from which came the card to me. It is so interesting and stunning!

I would love to get a postcard with the place where you live. Especially I love churches, bridges and other historical buildings and sights. But I will be also happy to see stadiums or some interesting nature from your country, city, town or village!
If you don’t have the ‘right’ postcard, never mind. Just send the one which you like. I’ll be glad to see it in my letterbox!
