About Bobbi...

Hello! My name is Bobbi.

I am 31 years old. I have lived in the state of Indiana my entire life. I have a close knit family. We are often spending time together in our small town of Martinsville. I have no children, but I am a new aunt. My nephew recently turned two! :)

When we are not working and living our everyday lives, my family and I like to EXPLORE! Within my state there are very few parks, trails, beaches, lakes, towns, museums, etc. that we have yet to see. Traveling is definitely a passion of mine. I am fortunate enough to have traveled to 48 out of 50 states and have visited ten countries. I have friends and extended family who live all over the US. I make it a point to take the time to go and visit them often.

I love meeting new people and learning all the different ways people live. I enjoy and value other perspectives. I am a consumer of history and always take time to read historical markers and visit educational centers. I especially love nature and wildlife. It is a goal to one day have visited every U.S. and Canadian National park. I love art and enjoy art museums and unique exhibitions. As most people do, I have a variety of tastes in music, films, shows and books. I’m a sucker for an inspiring performance, a great story, or fun facts.

I learned to have an appreciation for competition and sports from my Mom. We watch professional (American) football, college basketball, and tennis together. We cheer for the Colts, Purdue Univeristy and Roger Federer. The Olympics are also always exciting to watch. My Dad taught me to appreciate the vastness of space. He and I are amateur astronomers and often use our telescopes to view the night sky.

My city of Martinsville was once known for having Artesian well water. It was believed to contain healing properties and people would come from all over to bathe in it. We were also once known as the goldfish capitol of the world and still have large, active fisheries today.

On the grand scheme, there’s not much in my town worth noting. Some would say the same for the state of Indiana and the Midwest in general. But I love my home and my state. It has its charms and beauty if you take the time to look. I’ve visited many awe inspiring places, but none could have my heart like Indiana.

During this time that we must stay home, I’m hoping the postcrossing community will take the place of my desire to travel. I’m hoping to get a glimpse of your part of the world. Whatever or wherever that may be. I’m hoping this will become a happy hobby to bring some fun to my mailbox and a smile to my day. In turn, I hope to do the same for others.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
