About Robert...

Hi, my name is Robert. To quote Kris Kringle in the classic Christmas movie, "I am as old as my tongue, but older than my teeth". In my past I have been a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and helped start Habitat communities in the US,Armenia, Bolivia, Paraguay and the Philippines.
I have also worked with Native American communities in the US and with Burmese refugees.
I am an Expat from Alabama living in the cold of Wisconsin. I think the greatest culture shock I've had was moving to Milwaukee. That takes into account the year I spent in Armenia where I neither spoke Armenian or Russian, If you like , please share with me a time when you experienced culture shock.
In my former Postcrossing account I included a list of preposterous requests such as "Monks, Monkeys. Monks dressed as monkeys, and monkeys dressed as monks". I was astounded by the creativity of the Postcrossing community with the number of hand drawn cards depicting monkish monkeys. :

I am also a tea fanatic. I discovered Ruby 18 black tea when I visited Sun Moon Lake in Taiwan several years ago. I've taken a deep dive into Gong Fu tea services since then. I recently discovered that there are several farms in the American south producing prize winning teas. So, anything tea related in also welcome.

I love receiving holiday cards, particularly Lunar New Year cards.

Map cards please me also.

Cards of turtles, rabbits, bears, cranes, and monkeys are welcome.

All that said, the important thing in these dark days that we find ourselves in is the human connection that Postcrossing offers. You can send me any card and if there is something heartfelt written on it I will be happy.

Blessings

Robert
