About Kittikat...

About Me:
My name is Kathryn. I'm from Chicago, but I live in Michigan now because I went to graduate school here.
My hobbies: arts & crafts (especially paper cutting (wycinanki or scherenschnitte), macramé & friendship bracelets, and embroidery), taking walks & exploring new places, photography, and learning languages.

Cards I Want:
I am not picky. Your card can be handmade, store-bought, free, tourist, scenic, multiview, art, photo, drawing, or ANYTHING! It can show landscapes, buildings, people, food, national costumes, art or anything else. If you like it, I will like it too.

**My only request**: You choose a card that represents YOU. I want something to show me who you are. A symbol for who you are.

Example: My ethnic or national culture is very important to me; it is part of my identity—so, I send a card with a national symbol or traditional food or clothing.

Another example: I have many roles in life (sister, daughter, student, teacher, video game enthusiast), and for each role I put on a different face, so I send a card of a mask.

These are just examples. Think creatively! What makes you, you? How do you identify yourself? Express yourself with a postcard!

Message I Want:
This is important: I want you to tell me why you chose the card. What does the picture symbolize? What does it mean for you? I’m curious about all kinds of people. Introduce yourself. :)

LONGER IS BETTER: For me, the message is MUCH MORE IMPORTANT than the picture on the card. I like it when the message fills the entire card. The more you write, the better. The only card I don't like is the one that only says "Happy postcrossing" and nothing else!

It’s ok if you don’t know much English. A long message in broken English is better than a short message in perfect English. Don't be embarrassed; I promise I'm nice! :)

If German, Polish, or Russian is your native language, you can write me in that, too. In fact, I'd appreciate it.

If your native language is different, teach me a word or phrase in your language. Or write a short introduction, for example: “My name is __, and I'm from __.” in your language.

If you don’t know what else to write or you want an idea for what postcard to send, here are some suggestions:
-tell me about yourself: What’s your favorite food? book? holiday? movie? TV show? tradition? color?
-tell me about where you live: Do you live in a big city or small town? Is it a pretty place or not very pretty? Do you like it there? Where is your favorite place to be?
-a traditional proverb
-a quote you like
-a poem
etc.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You may send the card in an envelope, if you wish. It is your choice. If you choose to send it in an envelope, why not send some other small thing, like an article clipped from your local newspaper or a ticket stub or an interesting sticker or a photo or...? That makes it more personal, unique, and interesting for me.
Good luck, all the best, and of course, happy postcrossing! :)
