About Kent...
I am a retired professor of early modern European history and world civilizations. I taught at the University of Idaho for 32 years. My wife, Cynthia Schwenk, was also a professor (ancient Greece and Rome), George State University.
Six years ago we added a wing to my younger son's home in Andover, NH, to be with Emily, now age 12, as she grow up. My older son, who, with his wife Cali, makes hurdy gurdies, at their home near Seattle, Washington.
Many years ago I was fortunate to live and research in collections in London for two periods of six month and another for a year.
Cynthia and I love to travel, which we did extensively in the first decade of this century: former Eastern Germany from Wiemar to Berlin, South Africa from Cape Town to Kruger Park, the Low Countries on a river cruise, the Greek islands and mainland, and Paris, We also traveled in the UK, gaining an appreciation for Wales.
We love the paintings of the Impressionists and and have viewed their canvasses in many collections.
In good weather I walk and bicycle on a near-by rail trail and play tennis in all seasons.
