About Jonas...

Letters and postcards are different from e-mails and text messages. A letter is a physical object, written and handled by a physical being. It's something you can hold, feel, smell and keep.

In the world of today there is enough instant gratification to overwhelm a trillion minds, so having the opportunity to spend some time and effort in order to give someone else a truly human experience is a wonderful gift, one that I am pleased to take.

My name is Jonas and I'm from Brazil, more specifically from the city of Jundiaí, state of São Paulo. I am fascinated by stories and for that reason I decided to be an artist.

Any kind of postcard is welcome, as long as you like it. I love postcards, stamps and envelopes, particularly when they are filled with the culture of the sender. But, for me, the texts are more important than the images you choose. You can tell me a story or tell me why you love the subject of the card you chose, or anything you feel like writing. Write as much as you want. I love reading other people's stories and I love the randomness of reading from people that I otherwise would never read.

I love cinema, photography, folklore, literature and painting. I like art in general, traveling and meeting diverse cultural backgrounds. I like football ("soccer" if you're American) and I'm a supporter of Paulista F.C., the team from the city I live since I was born.

I can speak Portuguese (native), English and Italian. I will also be able to read French, Esperanto and Spanish, however I also like being exposed to different languages, whatever that is.

If you want to have an idea of the kind of postcard I like the most, you can take a look at my favourites: https://www.postcrossing.com/user/JonasArbo/gallery/favourites

Love and hate seem to be the two feelings that make the world go round, so it could also be fun if you chose the postcard you hate the most. That thing you have around and don't know why. Send it to me and tell me why do you hate it so much. Give voice to your aversion. I bet something interesting will come out of this.

Recently I have been giving baby steps in learning Russian, so you Russophone postcrossers can use your creativity today to make me learn something new.

I wish you have a nice day and a great life and that this experience is so rewarding for you as it has been for me.

If you received something from me and felt an urge to retribute the treat, my mailbox will always be open for those who amicably and respectfully make direct contact with me.

If you'd like me to be your penpal, send me a letter instead of an email. I answer all the letters I get and I love doing it.

My postal address is:

Caixa postal 295
Rua Petronilha Antunes, 343
Jundiaí-SP
CEP 13201-970
