Hello, friends!
My name is Jody. I live with my husband, cats, dog, chickens, and honeybees in rural Pennsylvania. We have two young-adult daughters who are attending college: one is studying art at the Rhode Island School of Design, and the other is pursuing her Master's degree in international relations at McGill University in Montreal. Our family lives on a small farm where we grow vegetables and have apple trees. Our fields are planted with corn and soybeans. We also have many maple trees, and we make maple syrup in February and March when the sap is rising. The maple syrup is very sweet and is served over pancakes.

We homeschooled our daughters, and now I teach an online class of honors-level English to high school students. I enjoy learning new things and exploring culture. Our whole family enjoys outdoor activities, books, music, and art. I love to work in the garden. I especially love both wild and cultivated flowers. I also enjoy bicycling, running, and hiking in the woods. I am learning to play the cello--I'm not very good, but I have fun trying. I like to listen to and sing traditional folk songs, and our family often plays music together.

I love art, and I volunteer as the director of our community's art center. I have been an ornamental blacksmith for many years, and I periodically teach classes in art and blacksmithing.
