About June-Ann...

Greetings to all!
I am a teacher and a mother, a wife and the guardian of two cats! I am very happy to meet you!
I teach at a local university with a specialty in medieval literature (Arthurian traditions, Celtic [Welsh and Irish] poetry, Anglo-Saxon verse, and writings of the great mystics); medieval art (Romanesque and Gothic architecture, medieval manuscripts) and cultural, social and women's history (anything medieval). DANTE especially!
I also am fascinated by religions and the spiritual traditions of the world. I am a vegetarian, a member of PETA (animal rights), a gardener, hiker and a reader. I love literature (everything from Beowulf and Shakespeare and Dickens to Dylan Thomas and Tolkien and Tana French), art, music, drama, history and folk traditions, and all nature (particularly oceans/ bodies of water, birds and flowers).
I look forward to all postcards from the world- especially cards with literary, artistic, religious/ spiritual, and historical significance, as well as anything to do with nature or "Middle-earth"! Tell me about you, about your home, and your country.
Please do not send advertising cards or any kind of commercial cards but please do send cards with comments about you and your interests, passions, joys!

Some of my favorite quotations for you to enjoy:

From Jesus: "For what does it profit a man if he gain the whole world but lose his soul?"
From JRR Tolkien: "Not all who wander are lost."
From Rumi: "When you let go of who you are, you become who you might be."
From Dr. Seuss: "Take every chance. Drop every fear."
From Maya Angelou: "If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be."
From Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel: "Just to be is a blessing. Just to live is holy."
From Malala Yousafzai: "When the whole world is silent, even one voice becomes powerful."
From the Dalai Lama: "Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive."
From Mahatma Gandhi: "You must be the change you wish to see in the world."

May you always walk in the Light.
