About Laurie...

Smalltown Midwestern wife and mom....shutterbug and world traveler via the Internet and travel shows. Would love to get something in the mail besides bills now and then, and share photos of my world as I see it. (-:

I have 3 kids and a great husband, a German Shepherd and a Boston Terrier. I enjoy photography, gardening, cooking, reading, camping, fishing, browsing through antique/junk shops, as far as hobbies go. I used to love to go to the beach when I lived in California; now I enjoy trips to the Mississippi or the lakes, since I live so far from the ocean. )-: Hoping someday to visit the Atlantic, so I can try the surf on that side of the U.S.! I recently got interested in trapping small furbearers ( had to learn to protect my poultry....sadly though, we lost our whole flock to neighbor's dogs awhile back, no more poultry!) But I still enjoy trapping, and am taking up deerhunting as a new hobby this year! (Really excited about that-- so is my husband!)

Sometimes I like to just drive around randomly in the country to see what I can find to take photos of....but lately with the price of gas, I haven't done it much as I used to!

Would like postcards depicting:

~Vintage photography
~Vintage "travel/vacation" type postcards
~Landscapes, esp. of your region/town/country
~ANY postcard of the Chicago Bears or New York Yankees!!
~Boston Terrier Dogs (LOVE them, have one!)
~Horses (I LOVE horses, sadly don't have one anymore)
~Postcards created with your OWN photography not just a photo, but with a real "postcard" type back, and a stamp. (Okay to mail in an envelope, however, if traveling far....I make some of my own photo postcards, and to protect them, I often mail in an envelope if going overseas.)

But ANY kind of postcard will be fun to receive! And I'd be glad to send you one in return! Just be sure to tell me a little bit about:

~What it's like where you live
~What you did today
~Something about yourself

....or some little short tidbit like that! Whatever fits on a postcard!

If you get a postcard from me (or anyone else from the United States) and there is a white rectangular sticker on the front of your card, it is from the post office, and will easily peel off without damaging your postcard.

Thanks! I look forward to new adventures through your postcards!
