And if your language is not on my list, but it is at least close to any of them, you might consider writing in your mother tongue. I mean, if you speak e. g. Bulgarian, Latvian, Dutch, Russian or any other language related to one on my list, I would love to try deciphering from what I know from the other languages.

I’ve become a little tired of those hardcore postcrossers with their long lists of what they do and do not want. I want to get to know you, your life story, your living place. Send me whatever card you feel like sending. Or maybe you have a card that you thought nobody would like? I am looking forward to it!

Since it is difficult to pick a card for someone, who you know nothing about, I’ll try to write something about myself here. But be warned, it’s tl;dr:

I am a guy from Czechia, originally from Central Bohemia, now I live in the city of Ostrava. I work as a software/web developer, which is connected to my love for technology. As much as programming, or maybe more, I love languages and linguistict – learning, understanding, analysing. This passion for languages goes along with my interest in various cultures, habits, ways of living, art. The more local, the more distinct, the better. I like to visit places nobody would go to, to listen to music that nobody knows, to watch movies that you’d see in an indie theater or more probably not even there. I want to see and hear what makes YOU and YOUR life, area, work… special.

My “hobby” is figuring out how things work. It may be a human language, a programming language, it may be a municipal transportation system, it may be a behavior of a living society. I hate when things that are supposted to work aren’t working. I am rarely satisfied with myself, always failing at tries to do things better. I believe that it is worth trying to be nice to others. I am naïve, choleric, misanthropic, straight, caring, stubborn, passionate, curious…

Ok, enough I’s. Do you already know, what card to send me? Great! Don’t? Pick the ugliest one, or just a random one. I just want a card.

One more thing: I don’t like when senders just print my address and stick it to the card. Handwritten address makes the postcard much more warm and personal. It’s not a request, of course. I just want to state that I like handwritten cards more.
