I live in South Africa in Gonubie which is a suburb of East London.....the only river port in South Africa. I can see the Indian ocean from my home which is about 200 meters from the shore line.

I am recently retired......I worked as a chemical technician for the municipality or local authority mainly in pollution control and sewage treatment.

I have a step son and a daughter who is married and recently had a daughter Olivia.....rather a precious little bundle. They live about an hours drive from us.

I am interested in all aspects of Geography particularly areas where people live in conditions vastly different to my own. I would love to have more contact with peoples who live in The Falkland Islands or other remote habitats.....when I was 14 I did a school geography project on the Island of Tristan da Cunha....just prior to the eruption of the volcano and the evacuation of the peoples to Britain.

I have a number of pen friends with whom I have developed interesting friendships and from whom I have learnt much about their countries in which they live.

I am active....walk swim garden attend aquafit and Pilates lessons.

I am interested in all the usual things peculiar to a lady like needle work cooking and crafts.

I would LOVE to receive postcards from around the world.......i have sent 9 so far and looked up each town both in my atlas and on google......so interesting
