About Claudine...

Greetings!

My name is Claudine, and I live on Long Island, which is a suburb east of New York City. My town, Seaford, is on the south shore of the island. To give you perspective, it is about a 45-minute train ride from my home to New York City. I live here with my two sons, ages 9 and 11.

I am a medical editor and a sometime teacher of English to adult speakers of foreign languages.

As far as my hobbies and interests, I love reading, running, yoga, traveling, museums, learning languages, making quilts, learning to play instruments, watching movies, visiting with friends, and NOT cooking (but I would love to receive postcards showing food and drink from your region).

I have no real preferences as to the type of postcard I receive, but if I could choose, I would enjoy receiving:
*Kogepan and his friends!! If anyone from Japan has a Kogepan card, I would love it!
*Something that shows me a bit about where you live or what you're interested in
*Funny, quirky, sarcastic
*Old-fashioned (esp. 1920s through 1950s)
*Vintage travel ads
*Glamorous film stars
*Pin-up girls
*Bollywood stars
*The Beatles
*Steampunk
*Art deco
*Alternative
*Artistic
*Beaches
*Hot air balloons (the kind you ride in)
*Color and patterns
*Quilts or patterns that look like quilts
*Textiles, fabric
*Photos or creative art involving books, bookstores
*Saris
*Pictures of paper and pens
*Musical instruments
*Flowers, especially colorful ones
*Inge Look's old ladies
*I LOVE funny cards picturing the British royal family (or I suppose any royal family), like GB-400353 on my favorites wall.

I'm not a huge fan of animals or anything overtly religious, but if that's what interests you, it's fine and would be welcomed.

I would love to receive your creative, hand-made cards!! This would be a lovely gift that I would appreciate greatly.

Please send whatever is interesting to you, and tell me a bit about yourself.

**Do you have a favorite book or movie? If so, please tell me! (And also, if you like reading, please visit my website where I list and rate all the books I've read since 1992--just reached 500 recently.)

**What song/artist are you listening to? I love to discover new music.

**Tell me a VERY EASY recipe that I can make for dinner! I hate to cook, but I love food.

**Please write a friendly greeting in your own language so I can learn how to speak to new friends (but please write the translation in English so I know what I'm learning).

**Can you draw me a little animal or other cute drawing? I can't draw at all, so I love to see other people's creative works.

**What would you like to learn? A skill? An art form? A language? A sport?

**Tell me about the best trip you've ever been on and why.

**Can you tell me a joke? If it's in French, Spanish, German, or Dutch, I should be able to understand it--a fun test!

**If you write/speak Arabic, maybe you can write something for me to translate. It's a challenge, but I love to test my skills.

Thanks for reading!
