About Candace...
I love sending and receiving mail, especially postcards. It is a wonderful way to meet people around the world and share a little bit of their life with them.
I am a historian; I teach medieval European and world history to undergraduates and master's students at California State University, Sacramento. I love history and I love teaching; every day with my students is another opportunity for me to learn as well as teach. My specialty is late medieval England. I teach the history of religion, magic, witchcraft, alchemy, and diseases.
I live in a suburb of Sacramento called Elk Grove (there are no Elk and no groves any more), but I am originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. I also lived in Connecticut for several years.
In addition to writing (letters, postcards, cards, notes), I have far too many hobbies. I cross-stitch, quilt, sew, make my own cards and paper crafts, cook and bake, and above all else read. I love books; they have always been my best friends. I read everything but especially history books, vampire, monster, and supernatural books.
I have been adopted by four cats and a dog.
I would love ANY postcard you wish to send, but here are some of my favorite things:
Cats
Anything supernatural
Bats
Peacocks
Foxes
Sewing
Vintage prints or illustrations
Anything about books
Halloween
Magic
Monsters
Dragons
Flowers
Hot Air Balloons
Anything Historical
My favorites wall is a wish list.
I am also an obsessive collector of all things sheep. Baa!
