About Candace...

I love sending and receiving mail, especially postcards. It is a wonderful way to meet people around the world and share a little bit of their life with them.

I am a historian; I teach medieval European and world history to undergraduates and master's students at California State University, Sacramento. I love history and I love teaching; every day with my students is another opportunity for me to learn as well as teach. My specialty is late medieval England. I teach the history of religion, women, magic, witchcraft, and alchemy.

I live in a suburb of Sacramento called Elk Grove (there are no Elk and no groves any more), but I am originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. I also lived in Connecticut for several years.

In addition to writing (letters, postcards, cards, notes), I have far too many hobbies. I cross-stitch, quilt, sew, make my own cards and paper crafts, cook and bake, and above all else, read. I love books; they have always been my best friends. I read everything but especially history books, vampire, monster, and supernatural books.

I would like to collect library due date cards; these are cards placed in books, usually stamped with the date the book is due back at the library. The libraries around me have switched to digital systems and no longer use the cards. I would like to collect these cards from different countries. If you would like to mail your postcard in an envelope and can send me a due date card, I would very much appreciate it.

I have been adopted by five cats and two dogs.

I would love ANY postcard you wish to send, but here are some of my favorite things:
Cats
Anything supernatural
Bats
Peacocks
Foxes
Sewing
Vintage prints or illustrations
Anything about books or libraries
Halloween
Magic
Monsters
Dragons
Flowers
Hot Air Balloons
Anything Historical

Handmade cards always welcome.

My favorites wall is a wish list.

I am also an obsessive collector of all things sheep. Baa!
