About Crista...

Hello! My name is Crista, I am 24 and I currently live in Maryland. I moved from my home state when I got married to my amazing husband, making me a military wife!
I love learning new things about culture, people, and languages, which is why I studied communications, linguistics, and Spanish in college. I love to travel as well! I have been to 15 countries! This is why I joined postcrossing, I can travel to more countries from an armchair!

My favorite postcards show:
-Books or libraries
-Birthday cards in July
-Something traditional and culture related like markets, clothing, decorations, buildings, religions, festivals, food, people, wildlife, dances, or characters
-Anything that has words in your native language (unless english)
-Holiday cards during the seasons (my country or yours)
-Cartoon characters or comics speaking in your native language
-Pictorial maps or regular maps
-Paintings or drawings in the style of your country
-Transportation maps or road signs
-Historical monuments and popular tourist attractions
-City views or popular landscapes
-A card that has the alphabet or teaches words or how to say things
-Governmental figures (new and old)

But anything is great, if you think I would love something, send it my way :D You can send regular cards too if you have that for holidays or birthdays or something :) Handmade cards are always welcome too!

It would be great if you could please include your first name and country/city of origin. Also, I would love if you start your postcard the way you would in your native language, for example with a "hello" or a "dear". I love learning new things!

If you send it in an envelope I would love to receive a newspaper article, a photo, or anything else you find interesting (ex: train ticket, bus token, even a food wrapper!)

Don't know what to write?:

>If you are an artist or just like to draw, I would love a picture from you or even a handmade card!

>Share a recipe that you love! I have just started to get into cooking and baking!!

>Write one paragraph in your native language and then its translation in English (I love seeing and reading new languages!)

>Include your favorite word, favorite joke, favorite phrase, saying, or idiom, favorite insult, or something weird/cool about your language

>Teach me words, phrases, or specific letters/characters in your native language

>Include the last happy event that happened to you

>Write me a few words about your favorite things to do in your country/hometown/city/surrounding area so that if I ever visit, I can do the same! Maybe something you wouldn't see in tourist guidebooks, a secret of the city that only locals know about

> Tell me about your favorite books

Thank you for your generosity and time and happy postcrossing!
