About Emily...

Hi there!

My name is Emily. I'm a librarian and history teacher at an all girls high school and my hobbies are reading (my personal library is mostly history, 20th/21st century novels, science fiction, and fantasy), knitting, baking, doing yoga, and traveling. I have two cats - Frankie and Maeve who you can see in my profile picture.

If you're searching for something to write: Do you have pets? What do you do on your commute to work/school? If you could learn a language, which one? What's your favorite swear word in your language?

Estoy aprendiendo español. Si quieres y puedes, escríbame en español. Estaría muy feliz de leerlo.

I welcome every card and would especially appreciate cards showing:
-Deutsche Ortsschilder (I already have Allgäu, Albersdorf, Baden-Baden, Berlin, Bielefeld, Cuxhaven, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Erfurt, Flensburg, Föhr, Göttingen, Hamburg, Herzogenaurach, Karlsruhe, Kiel, Konstanz am Bodensee, Leipzig, Lübeck, Mainz, Mosel, Munich, Neuss, Nürnberg, Passau, Potsdam, Stuttgart, & Zwickau)
-US post crossers: maps of your state, if you have them!
-foxes, weasels, stoats, martens
-cats (of all sizes and colors)
-vintage travel country/city advertisements (like the ones made by Anderson Design Group and Lantern Press)
-coffee or tea cups
-books, bookstores, libraries
-bridges
-sunrise or sunsets
-clocks or clock towers
-architecture in your city
-the traditional clothing or art styles of your region/country
-your local nature (national parks, mountain ranges, beaches, fields, anything!)
-stained glass windows
-poorly translated German/Denglisch phrases (z.B."I believe I spider"/"Ich glaube ich spinne").

Thank you, danke, y gracias.
