My name is Mark. I'm a healthcare administrator working and living in Cleveland along the southern shore of Lake Erie. I'm writing to you from a small desk that overlooks a quite city street. On weekends I enjoy my coffee on the porch, watching the birds, and chatting with the couples walk their dogs past the old Victorians and large Oaks that reside here.

I share one of those homes with 6 others where we quickly go from strangers, to roommates, and then friends. Their stays vary from a week to several months. One day their here and then poof their gone and the room soon comfort another weary traveler. At the moment we have one Iranian medical student, a proud Texan, a Peruvian IT guru, a 82 year old spinster, a 20 something from Los Angeles, a deep gray cat called Smokey, and me at the top of the stairs on the left.

At dinner time we gather to eat, laugh, and swap stories. In those moments the house comes to life with stories from home, jokes, reminiscence of lost loves, impromptu English lessons, and tales of true adventure. If you have forgotten the promise of America spend a few days here and you will soon see its virtue again.

Please don't stress about sending the "perfect card" life is as they say... too short. If you think its neat, beautiful, funny, interesting, etc. and you like it chances are I'll like it too. I like when others have a list to help me decide which card to send, so I always try to include a list of my own, and update it once in a while so I get something new now and again. Variety is the spice of life.
