About Bikurgurl...

I am a former home educating mama to two teens, satiating my love of travel and learning about peoples, places, cultures, art, and history of the world through Postcrossing! Though my family helps me choose postcards when we travel, and I share received postcards with them, this is really my passion project! I enjoy new and different postage stamps, local interests, local heritage, local nature.

My interests are in nature, biology, history, reading, art, travel, and coffee/tea ❤️ What about you? If you are sending a postcard, I would love to know what your favorite food is, and explain that food, from your area; favorite local place; local activity; local natural wonder; any detail that is unique to your area is welcome.

Learning more about where you are from and about your area is always welcomed! If you can date the postcard, I’d really appreciate it! :)

Postcards I love:

• repeated/variations of the same image; 'all about' small drawn or images of unique items from your country; items in multiples/repeated images or similar images (like Food from Russia, Belgian items, etc.)
• Map cards: real, vintage, drawn
- informational cards ("Did you know" series, recipes, and similar)
- things that uniquely identify your country (animals, plants, people in traditional clothes, architecture, landscapes, etc.)
- Postboxes/mailboxes
- bicycles, especially vintage
- Star Wars/Hobbit and Lord of the Rings/Marvel/Harry Potter/Deadpool movie postcards
- famous artist prints {Picasso, Salvador Dali, Escher, Calder, Warhol, etc.}
- Halloween/vintage Halloween cards {year round!}
- Postcrossing meet-ups

If you'd like examples of desired cards, please look at my favorites.

Whatever you send is appreciated - though I prefer no envelopes/ad cards.

If you are writing from the Netherlands, I'd LOVE to receive one of the stamps - it all began with this beauty:

And, most importantly....

Thank you in advance for your postcards! :)

Happy Postcrossing,

Socials: Bikurgurl

Unfortunately, I have cards that never reached their destination.

With the unpredictabliity of mail during the Global Pandemic, I have also sent at least one second card to each.

Please let me know if you ever receive them 🖤
