Hello friends, my name is Barry Meijer. I am from South Africa.
I am a Christian (& thus A LIVING JESUS!). Jesus is my Saviour, literally (you can find out later). In the week I learn to sing, and I sing!(Voice lessons; passed Trinity (London)Grade 8 last year now doing Advanced..., I also sing in my church choir, which is mixed voice,SATB, often SSAATTBB, with our choir averaging about 12 members.) Also play volleyball socially.
The postcards I like are cards from around the world -from your cities, monuments, amusement parks, zoo or... wherever you find yourself to be. :) MAYBE.. you might like to tweek one of my pet interests: aeroplanes, and items of historic value (anything!).

My other interests are language (English, my mother tongue, and Afrikaans I speak fluently; I have also studied a little English Linguistics...) This country has 11 official languages, I know only splatterings of a few of them[i.e. a few words, and phrases. I can distinguish between a couple of dialects in a minuscule way. This refers to dialects of Sotho and Zulu.].

My travels have confirmed that this is a big world, and, for the small part that I've seen, it is a good place! Multi-cultures I have experienced, from Egypt to Czech Republic, across to the United Kingdom. South Africa has probably many more cultures contained within, but I think they are diluted by being alongside all the others in this 'Big Melting Pot'(of cultures).
I, as a person, am someone who is aware of his history, and family - English, Irish, Scotch, Dutch, German... not entirely in that order (by NO means!-my grandfather born in Amsterdam, Holland; I'm raised in a neo-British/ post-colonial English household; my thinking is that I am FULLY South African! :)[and proudly so]).
