About Anna...
Hello Postcrossers
I live in Shipley, West Yorkshire, in the north of England. Shipley is a small town, near to the historic village of Saltaire. We are not far from Ilkley Moor and the Yorkshire Dales. Haworth (where the Brontes lived) is only a few miles away.
I like walking, cycling, playing hand drums, watching films and noir series and reading novels. I love cycle touring and I have cycle toured in France, Germany, India, Ireland, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain as well as in the UK. To celebrate being 60 I cycled the UK 'End to End' - 1000 miles in 14 days, from Land's End in Cornwall, the south-west peninsula of England to John O'Groats in the north-east of Scotland.
I started collecting postcards as a small child. My mother would buy me art postcards from London art galleries and ask her friends to send me postcards. Later on, my father did a lot of travelling and sent me postcards from all over the world. I also have a lot of postcards from friends, as well as postcards that I have bought to remind me of a place I have visited, or because I liked the picture.
There is always something special about a postcard that arrives through the mail, from far away, and I will be pleased to receive any postcard you would like to send. Tell me something about yourself: for example, what you are doing at the moment; what you enjoy doing; your favourite place ...
Any random postcard that you choose will be welcome - I like to be surprised! If you want suggestions, here are a few:
- hand drums, percussion
- musical instruments of your country
- dancers
- bicycles
- trees
- landscapes of your country or a place that you have visited
- maps - a map of your country, area, state or district
I look forward to your postcard ;-)
Anna
