Monticello, home of Thomas Jefferson in Charlottesville, Virginia. Jefferson was the third president of the United States and author of the Declaration of Independence. This home is a UNESCO site, the only home in the United States that is designated UNESCO. Also in Charlottesville Virginia is the University of Virginia, another UNESCO site and Jefferson’s brain-child.
