Национальный монумент Колорадо - это тоже национальный парк, у самой границы со штатом Юта. Он носит то же имя, что и штат, в котором располагается. При подъезде к нему ландшафт становился всё более пустынный, растительность бедная, но зато появляются скалы. Всё более и более высокие и цвет их меняется от жёлтого и серо-жёлтого к серо-красному (железо даёт такой цвет). Скалы необычной формы (это ветер неравномерно выветривает песчаники) и красноватого цвета - очень красиво и необычно.
