Here is the explanatory text printed on the upper left back of this postcard: THE NOCKAMIXON PALISADES
Hikers enjoying the view from one of the superior vantage points in Bucks County. Rising over 350 feet (107 meters), the Nockamixon Cliffs stretch over three miles from Kintnersville to Narrowsville. Composed of weather-resistant red shale and partially metamorphosed Sandstone, these ledges and crevices support an arctic-alpine plant community rare to Pennsylvania. The Cliffs also serve as a significant bird sanctuary for over 90 bird species, including the endangered peregrine falcon. |
