The Boeing 247D and 777 represent the leading edge of commercial aviation technology in 1933 and 1996, respectively. The Boeing 247 was the world's first modern airliner, establishing a revolutionary design - all metal, low-wing, engines mounted on the forward edges of the wings, and retractable landing gear. This redefined the standard which still holds in today's most modern airliner, the Boeing 777.
