The Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater, one of the most important theaters in Novosibirsk and Siberia, is located on the main square of the city. The theater building, the largest theater building in Russia, was erected in 1931–41 and after the reconstruction of 2005 the most modernly equipped theater in Russia.
