Maria Laach Abbey is situated in Glees, on the southwestern shore of the Laacher See (Lake Laach), in the Eifel region of the Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany. It was built in the 11th-12th centuries and was known as Abtei Laach or Lake Abbey.
