The flight of ’14 Bis’, a biplane designed by Brazilian aviation pioneer Alberto Santos-Dumont. The first heavier-than-air plane to achieve independent flight, without being catapulted into midair, like the Wright Brothers’ plane in USA. It was publicly witnessed by a crowd in 1906, Paris.
