About Tatyana...
Hello!
I study computational linguistics in Kyiv and I’m really excited about everything having to do with languages, grammars, words and writing systems, although I’m very interested in other areas of scientific knowledge as well :)
Hopefully, I will enjoy any postcard (you’ll never know, though…), but the following things will make me totally happy:
- “Alice in Wonderland” or “Through the Looking Glass” illustrations
- Terry Pratchett's Discworld
- Nichtlustig postcards
- "Get around in English" cards
- Art (classical or modern, traditional or digital – you name it. Surrealism, for example. Or Preraphaelites. Or something interesting and unusual. Or works by your local artist. Or painted cityviews) and illustrations. I generally tend to prefer drawings to photos, although...well, there are tons of great photos :)
- Painted/drawn black cats
- Owls
- Alphabets, individual letters, or calligraphy
- Cards with a couple of phrases in German on the front along with the picture
- Stamps with scientists (esp. linguists ^^) or science- or math-related cards. Astronomy would be great!
- Something book or reading-related
- Something that helps to catch a glimpse of everyday life in your area
- beautiful girls in beautiful dresses
- Something with small details I could examine :)
- Interesting or rare animals (birds, insects…) and plants
- Map cards
- Stained glass
- Many other things like food and drinks, unusual architecture, mountains, black humor (or just humor), nice but weird stuff, colorful umbrellas, etc.
- Nice stamps, of course
But the greatest thing would be if you write as much as possible on the back ;) I like discovering new handwritings, learning new things and just reading what other people think, so feel free to ramble on anything. For example, tell me about your occupation or about your studies! I am really curious about what people in various places do :)
Have a nice day!
Tanya
