About pierrev...

[Updated April 28, 2013]

My name is Pierre. I have been a lawyer for 14 years. My wife Louise is also a Postcrosser.

I like to travel - especially to places with interesting physical geography, places that are off the beaten path, or places that offer skiing! Places I've been: Canada (10 provinces and territories), U.S.A. (14 states), Iceland, Scotland, England, Wales, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Spain, Portugal, and Morocco. I hope to visit the Southern Hemisphere on my next big trip. I'd love to hear about other countries that I have not yet visited. Maybe you can give me some ideas about where to go.

I enjoy playing all sports, especially ice hockey, curling, alpine skiing and soccer (football). I'm also a big fan of the Olympic Games.

I really enjoy music; I play the piano and collect vinyl records from my favourite musicians.

The cards I mark as "Favourites" are ones that I don't have yet, so my "Favourites" page might give you some ideas. I seem to like winter, the mountains, night views, and bright colours. If you think a postcard would attract tourists to your city or country, I'll probably like it.

[If possible, I would prefer not to receive ad, cartoon, free, or children's cards.]

I also try to write a lot of words on the back of my postcards and I hope you will too. Interesting stamps are fun as well.

Ja, mijn vader is van Nederland (tell me what you know about his home town of 's-Gravenzande)...und meine Mutter kommt aus der Schweiz (my family is from the Simmental in Berner Oberland).

Привет! I'm trying to master the Cyrillic alphabet, so that learning one of the "Cyrillic languages" someday will be easier. If you are familiar with one of the languages that uses the Cyrillic alphabet, feel free to write a word or two in that language and tell me how it is pronounced. Writing in French or German is fine too.

[A note about direct swaps: I have been receiving a lot of requests, which is great...but unfortunately I can't keep up with all of them right now! I already have a number of great ongoing swaps and I want to make sure that I still have the time to send those friends nice postcards. If you are already swapping with me, no need to worry!]
