About Barbara...
Hello from New Mexico,
After exchanging over 700 cards, I decided a new profile would be in order. Not much has changed from the original - being retired and having sedentary interests make for predictable activities, all of which I am grateful to pursue in good health!
I am still collecting Tiger images for my grandson born in the Year of the Tiger. The album has over 70 cards now . . . thank you all for choosing them for him.
Water issues have become more intense as we go into a third year of drought. I love the cards I get from places with perhaps too-much-water, oceans, seas, beaches and island are always welcome.
Any unusual insects or sea-life are fascinating to me. Images with trees are hard to beat. 2 Baobab seeds just spouted [still have their seed-caps on] which I am going to grow out as bonsai.
After over 2 years of Postcrossing, I am still surprised at how much these brief encounters mean to me. I work on a computer, so the handwritten notes, even the shortest "Happy Postcrossing!s" remind me that a real person took a moment to write - nothing better after a day of pixel-wrestling. I think of the network that is building as cryptogenic - fragile, ephemeral and creating a place for something we can't even imagine to grow in the future.
Thanks again to all the wonderful participants of Postcrossing.
Barbara
