About Elaine...

Hello! I am a retired teacher with a keen interest in history, current world events, nature, and exploring the world. My postcard collecting addiction started when I was a young child (I still have my first postcards which I received from my Dutch grandmother when I was three years old.)

All postcards are very welcome! If you would like to send me one which I would particularly enjoy, look at my wall of favourites (these are ones I don't have but would love to have) or you could choose something from the list below.

My very favourite kind of postcard:
- ships, especially cruise ships, sailing ships and aircraft carriers but also ferries and freighters

Also I love:
- maps of all kinds
- Inge Look postcards: they always put a smile on my face! (I currently have 45111, 46498, 46513, 46514, 50047, 52695, 54012, 54865, 55591, 56650, 58893)
- airplanes and airports
- travel accommodation: hotels, resorts, motels, B&Bs, inns
- wild birds
- famous people: prime ministers, presidents, royalty, writers, scientists, actors, musicians, any person of historical significance
- buildings: government, museums, universities, castles, historic houses
- famous paintings (especially portraits!)
- humorous
- historical photos: street scenes, people, events
- anything about the space programs

* Single-view preferred.
* Interesting stamps are appreciated.
* I don't prefer ad cards except for one of an airplane, cruise ship or hotel.
* Please, do not send me a homemade postcard or a folded card (it is not a postcard).

* Please include the name of the building, person, town, bird, painting, etc. in your message if it's not on the postcard in English.

* I greatly appreciate a message on the postcard. If possible, write about an event that is currently in the news in your country or describe one of your favourite places to visit.
