About Gabriele...

Dear friends of postcrossing,

my name is Gabriele and my homecountry is Austria. This is the small country in the middle of Europe.

I am 48 years old, married, and have a fulltime job. I am a little bit old fashioned, interested in plants, growing cacteen from seeds, needlework (like knitting and to embroid Gobelins), puzzles, travelling, country music, big trucks, blues, gospel songs, oldies, american history, collecting knives (or letter opener) with extraordinary wood handles or other especially materials, stones and miniatures of swarovski crystal, reading, emailing with friends.

I like to read about country and people and old traditions from countries far away. I am highly interested in the history of the american South (civil war, cotton plantations, freedom of the former slaves).

About reading - I like stories about the Great Old South (one of my favourite books are "Uncle Toms cabin" and from Gwen Bristow "Jubilee Trail" and "Calico Palace")or adventures of the first pioneers who settled down in Australia.

I prefer to get postcards about nature, landscapes, famous buildings, big trucks (like Kenworth, Peterbilt, Mack), bridges, steam locomotives, old railway stations, your hometowns, food and fruits, postboxes, people in traditional clothes, Garfield and the crazy old ladies of Inge Löök cards.

Please do not send me handmade cards - thank you.

Some ideas of writing on the card ....
I like to read about you. What do you like to do? What is your dream vacation? What makes you happy? What is the best thing in your city? What is your biggest wish?

Postcard-pals and warm-hearted penpals by email are welcome.
How do you spend your life? Maybe we can start a nice friendship.

Best wishes, Gabriele
