About Renate...
Hello to everybody who touches cards with his/her heart like me!
:-) :-) :-) :-( :-)
As for me I am called Renate, I am one of the little members of (Lower-) Austria, though I try hard to increase the number by asking my friends, my customers, my former teachers, pupils, even strangers for active membership.
Admittedly I do not write more than two cards a week. You see I have an embarrassing output of eighty cards a year which is a tenth of an eager writer! Though I am a loving postcrosser, I enjoy to fullfill your wishes as far as possible. (Once I bought a whole calendar to send a guinea pig and I even asked my colleagues to be sure to send a guinea pig and not a hamster since I have problems in distinguishing...) I do not make the effort to tell you all this vanity to confound you,as I know you have a rising "giving-away-card-collection"too, I just want to make you a picture of what a great estimable idea postcrossing is to me!
As for the following you can find out my character...
Things I like (and would love to find pictures of in my postbox):
-sheep
-art cards, paintings, everything which is called "fine arts"
-books (I am eagerly reading everything what falls into my hands), bookcovers, libraries, book illustrations, literature, poetry
-(european,arabic,persian,eastasian) calligraphy (I am a poor beginner in chinese calligraphy)
-(non comercial) cinema, ( my favourites "the Wonderfull World of Amelie" and "Alice in Wonderland" are blockbusters though)
-botanics, flowers (dandalion, daisies, poppies), old (olive)trees
-the Moon
-anything railway or bicycle connected (both are my prefered means of locomotion)
-anything pharmacy connected (it`s my profession)
-hand-made cards (I enjoy every minute you spend time on me)
-cards written in french
and of course like everyone I appreciate...
-natural scenery of your country
-non touristic town single views
-architecture
-black and white or sepia
-nouvelle image
-vintage style
-the Moomins
-the sea and water in general since I live in a "landlocked"
country (a striking quotation of a Netherlands postcrossing
partner)
-special stamps
Postcrossing for me is like getting the first letter from my first penpol, like the first snow fall in winter, like tickling water after hot sauna...
So finally I hope postcrossing is something special for you too, beyond a competition, in this sense I wish you to write me some personal words.
Greetings from sunny Austria
yours Renate
