About Hilary...
I am a retired teacher of modern languages, French and German. I love to find out about other languages and cultures. I love to get real mail and I like all cards and lovely stamps. I like to find out about your country but I really do prefer something other than just tourist views, if at all possible. I like Moomins. If you are from Finland I absolutely adore Inge Look!!!I like Fiep Westendorp (but thanks to wonderful penfriends I now have a lot of "Jip en Janneke") and Rie Cramer if you are Dutch! I like local customs and local costumes and line drawings. I like "different" cards or cards with your language on them. I like characters from folktales and children's books.I'd like The Little Prince and Alice in Wonderland postcards (and books!!!!) in other languages! I like home-made cards, unusual ad cards and postboxes but don't worry if you haven't got these!!! Just want to make the world smaller and to promote friendships. Do try to put a little about yourself if possible. If you send a card in August it could be a birthday card as my birthday is on 4th August (and last year I was 60)and at Christmas I would really love a Christmas card!! Or something about a special festival in your country? Easter? (but I am not religious, sorry) Halloween? Valentine's Day? And my husband likes hens!! Thank you in advance for thinking about me!! I wish to keep any existing private swaps but at the present time I really cannot cope with many new ones, sorry! If we already do a private swap, always find room for your address, please!
Spring 2012. My friend's granddaughter, who is 3, has been diagnosed recently with cancer. In England the Cancer Research Foundation (a charity) makes money from selling used stamps. So I was using this site to ask you all if you can save them from all your letters and maybe send me an envelope of them if you have tome and money to post them..? I can give you my address if you are interested? (Otherwise the postcards when you get my address via the usual way are fine as I prefer to get them stamped for my collection!)
