About Taru...

I am a 23-year-old sailor girl from Helsinki, Finland.
At the moment I am studying maritime to become a Master Mariner. Apart from studying and sailing at sea, I like to spend my time by hanging out with friends and playing video games (mostly Assassin's Creed). I also love to go out for walks and to play with my Shiba Inu called Sora.

I love reading, listening to music, taking loads of photographs and scuba diving. I also like to watch movies, and when I have time - TV.

I have a serious case of wanderlust. I love traveling and going to different places, and seeing interesting things. I love to explore cities and their sights and try new things I wouldn't normally get to do. Because most of the time I'm not able to travel around the world, I decided to try to make my wanderlust satisfied with pretty postcards from all over the world! :)

Postcard/picture themes, and other things that I like are:
- Touristy cards (esp. single views of city skylines at night/early morning/twilight ♥)
- the USA state map cards (my "50 States 50 Cards" project, more below)
- Winter, Reindeers, Northern Lights...
- Antarctic/Arctic: Icebergs, snow, ice, water, penguins, polar bears, whales, seals...
- National Parks & UNESCO World Heritage Sites
- Beautiful landscapes in general (forests, fields, mountains, still lakes, running streams...)
- Underwater pictures (especially divers/animals silhouetted against the light/surface)
- Ships of all kinds, lighthouses, and other sea marks
- Aircraft: commercial, military, helicopters
- Animals unique to your country
- Cherry trees, cherry blossoms
- Geisha/geiko, maiko
- Ancient world, mostly Ancient Rome, Greece, Egypt and Asia.
- Pretty much anything, really. As long as it's visually pleasing and beautiful! :D

Postcrossers from USA!
I have started a new project, and my goal is to receive a postcard from every state in the US. If you are from a state that I DON'T have a card from yet, I would love to receive a single view postcard from your state with the state mentioned on the card somehow. Or perhaps a state map card? :)

I would like to receive all cards WRITTEN, DATED and STAMPED, please. I get very excited when I see interesting stamps (especially the EUROPA stamps).

I also like to collect First Day Covers, other philatelic covers and different kind of interesting stamps (mostly bird and flower themes, as well as ship stamps).
