About Nathalie...

~20.01.2012~

I love music (I ador Nina Simone, I love jazz, blues, Rachmaninov, fado, Finnish tango...), and silence, nature, raspberries, Finland , wild flowers, radio, dahlias, my bike, books, coffee in bed to wake up with, art, applejam without sugar but with cinammon, gardening, chocolate, introspective literature, Jeanette Winterson's columns on her website, old (black/white) movies (Brief Encounter, Gone with the wind, Doctor Zjivago, TCM-movies, ...), misty mornings in the early autumn (I am born in November and Autumn is really my season), those rare days with the illusion of never ending time, I'm fascinated by the power of the written language and rooibostea with vanilla from the wonderful English teabrand 'My Cup of tea' gives me the right boost, especially on rainy days. My all time favourite movies are 'The unbearable lighness of being', 'Brief Encounter' and 'The end of the affair' and I have just adored 'Il Postino'.
Besides all that, I am a vegetarian, for ethical reasons.

I am 45 (scorpio) and I live in Gent with my Finnish partner, my 17 year old son, three cats (14 y old Billy-Bob and our young girly cats, Shoka and Manou), fishes, frogs, some trees, flowers and books, ... .

Above all I hope I may receive original and inspiring cards, artistic cards (no adcards if possible). I would be very happy to receive cards with photographs of writers (end 19th-beginning 20th century is very interesting) and philosophers (Socrates and Rousseau are my 'favourites'), artistic views (C. Larsson, Zorn, Waterhouse, Edelfelt, Rosetti, Hopper, naivistic art), special window(sills), and definitely cards that breath melancholy ...
To the Finnish postcrossers I'd like to say I am fond of Pentik, Marimekko, Iittala, Leena Airikkala, Minna Immonen. I tried to like Kaj Stenvall as well as the Moominfigures but they can't really inspire me.

Please no free adcards, no typical touristic viewcards nor self made papercards (unless own artistic photographic views), no babies nor animals (even if in real life I love them but not on cards :-)).
Could it be I'm a little bit difficult or do I simply know what I want ;-) ?
If you quickly take a peep in my 'favourites' you'll surely get an idea of who I am and what I like.

I am very interested to read what you have been doing the day you send the card, what you'd like to do tomorrow, a dream, a thought (even a weird one), a favourite song, book, a film you want to recommend ... it gives the card this very personal twinkle of your life that stays in my box safely and forever ... and if out of inspiration, give me the first line of the book that lies next to you.

Really looking forward to receiving your card. I do my best to keep in mind your preferences !

Warm wishes,
Nathalie

Ps : A date on the card would be so wonderful, an hour too, for later, when I take a dive into my box with cards; rather no envelopes, thank you !
