I like to receive postcards of any type and enjoy hand-made ones as well as store-bought.
My name is Vicki. I am 58 years old. I live on Hindmarsh Island in the estuary of the Murray River (longest river in Australia) where it exits to the Southern Ocean. I live in an area that is part of the Ramsar enviromental area and live on the waterfront. I have 3 grand-children.
I have several interests and they include Postcrossing. I am an armchair traveller and see the world as well as showcasing Australia through the medium of postcards.
Another of my hobbies is looking for and finding hidden treasure in the landscape around me through geocaching. This is a family activity that gets you out and about and off the couch and uses GPS technology, so appeals to the geeky side of me. I love that there is hidden treasure out there in the streets and parks just waiting to be found.
With the advent of the digital camera I have found that I love taking photos. I display my photos on flickr and have many spectacular (well I think so) sunrise and sunset pics. I also like recording the world around me through pics.
I have recently become enarmoured with pathtags, which are a swap item through geocaching and have just had my first pathtag made. Of course it is distinctly Australian with a kangaroo. This obsession has now resulted in me making 2 more pathtags.
My other interests are the environment, I do live in the middle of the Coorong National Park so it isn't hard to be interested in the habitat around me, I am a member of the Hindmarsh Island Landcare Group. I have recently become a board member on the Goolwa to Wellington Local Action Planning Board
I like reading and my favourite author is Anne McCaffrey. I do cross-stitching. I love listening to podcasts.
