Hello everyone,
It is always a wonderful surprise to come home and find a card or letter from afar in my mailbox. I share all my cards with my parents who are in their eighties. With Postcrossing we are learning about the world together. I also belong to a wonderful international women's group that promotes friendships across borders and cultures. When members travel to my city, I really enjoy hosting them and showing them around. So far I have had visitors from Austria, Germany, Wales, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. All lovely people to meet and know.
As far as what type of postcards I would prefer:
- city views, landscapes, map cards, bridges, trains, cultural (dancers, monuments, native dress), historic buildings
- vintage things like old cars, fashion, etc.
- Moomins, illustrations from children's literature and folk and fairy tales
-natural phenomena like Aurora Borealis
-Ad cards and handmade are OK if they will tell me something about you, your country or culture.
If none of the above are possible, send me whatever you like. I'm really not picky and enjoy every card I receive and really enjoy your message on the back. If possible,I prefer postcards with interesting stamps, NO envelopes, please. If you can, tell me about your city or the region, state or province where you live. Tell me what you like about your city or town. I'm looking forward to receiving your card!
