“send a postcard and receive a postcard back from a random person somewhere in the world!”

Postcrossing blog

News, updates and all kind of goodies

Tell us what you think!

Does Postcrossing have a special meaning for you? Does it make you smile every time you receive a postcard from the other side of the planet? Did it transform the way you see your mailbox? Now here's a chance to share all that with everyone.

We are preparing a new section for Postcrossing with testimonials from our members. It will feature what YOU think about Postcrossing and how important it is for you. So, we prepared a webpage where you can tell us your thoughts about the project: no special rules, other than to be honest about what you think and to try to keep it short. And don't forget to tell us how you want to be identified by (your name and/or location), or if you prefer that your testimonial to remain anonymous - we'll respect that.

Oh, by the way, we will hand-pick a couple of the best ones to receive a postcard from us, thanking you for the shared love! So don't be shy and tell us what you think about Postcrossing. We are looking forward to hear from you!

You guys got me writing :D A (grateful mostly ;)) note was just sent (though, I just read it was supposed to be short, I guess mine is out :P).
I think it is a really nice idea which might for sure attract new members. But I hope that you will also show the ones which might express something negative, to keep it real. But I guess that is the whole idea of it. :P

I love Postcrossing - it's like a mini-Christmas in the mail, not knowing when the next postcard will come or where it will be from!

I love postcrossing, it sure is nice to get something enjoyable in the mail (other than bills). Keep up the great work. Love to get cards from people all over the world. Thanks

I found 300 words for too little to explain my addiction and the joy it brings to me life :-)
Looking forward reading the efforts of us all.

I've always taken an interest in penpals and love snail mail. These days of course we have e-mail, msn, myspace etc etc. It is lovely to meet people from all over the world and a pleasant surprise to find a post card in the letterbox. A wonderful concept, thankyou! Happy Postcrossing everyone. Cheers, Glenda.

Postcrossing is the bright spot in my day, I love it and so does my family. The only 'negative'thing about it is the cost...

uhm, i would like to correct your statement on the entry about the 2million postcards.... you said, 'several friendships', well i have managed to get a lot of new friendships around the world just because of joining postcrossing. I've postcrossed under two flags now, Indonesia and UK, and you know what? No matter which flag i am under, I love it! I love getting and sending postcards! Let's celebrate this 2millionth card! :) Cheeers!!!

Hello Paulo,

I am happy to see such changes for the benefit of our members.
Well i have a question for which i am not able to find the answer from the Postcrossing Helpers.
Whom should i contact to find the answer?
(its with regard to the non active members, due to which the valueable cards get expires)
Is there any Post to write your views and recommendation for the better working of POSTCROSSING?

Intersting. I was very happy to hear that two millions postcards have travelled around in the World. I have been a postcrosser for a year - i found the page by an accident - and I am happy about that. I hope more danes might be interested in postcrossing. Best wishes to all of you from ville69

Sylvie202, Man (Isle of)
We simply need organisations like PostCrossing in these times of possible despair as to what human nature is capable of, we need faith in human generosity, we need to know that people are interested in other people and not simply ripping them off, we need to praise how far people will go to communicate with other human beings -I am amazed at people's linguistic skills through PostCrossing as well as in so many other contexts, we need people to smile at the idea of that constant human exchange, we need to reestablish trust between nations, we need to seek to communicate with countries whose cultures are constantly criticised by the media. Vive Postcrossing!

piratemom, United States of America
I second what Sylvie 202 said above. Postcrossing is a chance for me to stop, slow down, and do a very small random act of kindness to brighten someone else's day across our planet. Also I look forward to the mini-vacations I can take when I retrieve the postcard from my mailbox as I savor and read a fellow human's writings to me in my corner of the world. Postcrossing is a fabulous idea, let's go for three million postcards!

there is something to be said about snail mail. The world is moving so fast and it is nice to walk away from the letter box with something other than a bill. Its like a mini vacation.Brightens my day and I hope my cards have the same effect.
