“send a postcard and receive one back from a random postcrosser somewhere in the world!”

Planning your holidays?

We know many Postcrossers take their yearly break in the upcoming weeks to relax and visit new places. If you are one of those and you'll be away from your home address for a while, we recommend you to switch your account to the Inactive state - you can do that easily just by editing your Postcrossing profile. When you are back, all you need to do is to switch it back to Active and you'll be back in business again! This will tell Postcrossing to not give your address to any other member while you are away. Rest assured that when you're back, they will be sent your way.

Oh, and don't forget to re-stock with postcards from the place where you'll be spending your days away!

Bon voyage!

: )

I already went on holidays this month and the first thought on choosing the bags was take one where the cards would fit well and don't bend! :D

I take along International postage stamps when I go on vacation, as I always stop at a local library to chek my emails. Then when my kids give me the word that I have gotten a postcard at home, I register it, and send a card from my holiday place. It is a lot of trouble for most people, but I am always checking my post mail and my email anyway. I also bring home cards from the cities, sites I visit for use later. Happy days!

I always ask a relative to register the postcards I receive and I don't ask for new adresses as long as I'm on holiday. So everyone gets his postcard registered soon (most of the times even the day I received it).

Happy holidays to all of you!

Hi, thank you for that great idea of postcrossing! I was looking for that and so I like postcrossing very much. It is a very good idea with the inactive/active state. I had an address the last time and that person had a five-week-holiday. So it took a long time to register my card. - Sometimes people write a long time later if they asked for an address and so it tooks a lot of time, too. All the best to all postcrossers!
