About Gertarud...

Hello everybody,

I joined postcrossing to stop my mailbox from starving, and so far it is working very good!

I like reading (mostly fiction, biographies, historical novels or crime novels), hiking, photography, playing badminton, spending time in my garden, going to the cinema and making my own clothes.

It would be interesting to know what kind of shop or store you would have if you needn't worry about any financial or administrational stuff! You could also tell me what kind of book you would write (romance, crime novel...) and what the title would be.

As I speak different languages apart from english, feel free to write in dutch, german, french, afrikaans and spanish!

I like black-and-white postcards, black-and-white postcards with a splash of colour (I try to collect all the colours - I am still missing purple and brown), postcards of wire haired fox terriers, postcards of yellow things (you would make me really happy with a picture of a yellow VW beetle) or postcards picturing animals before a sunset. I also appreciate postcards with paintings of the French artist Camille Corot. I would prefer not to receive religious cards or supposedly funny cards with cute animals.

If you can, please include an Ex Libris, also called bookplate ( in your letter - my father is a collector and I would like to surprise him on his birthday in November.

I am looking forward to your postcards!
