About Thomas...

What's going wrong with this world now?
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."
Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel (German philosopher 1770-1831)
Is there anybody out there?
Welcome! Hallo!
My name is Thomas. I'm glad you got my address.

I like to write short stories and poems
I am absolutely not a sportsman
My favorite book is always the next book I want to buy
I like to listen to classical music and a little rock and pop (Anna Aaron, Balbina, Leonard Cohen, Sheryl Crow, Mighty Oaks, Agnes Obel, Chris Rea, Bruce Springsteen, Suzanne Vega (oh, so much after all!)
I like watching costume movies, film noir, anime, asian films
I like to go to Chinese restaurants
I'm particularly enthusiastic about opera
I could talk for hours about philosophy
I am desperately trying to learn Chinese and Japanese and Korean (without any success)
My secret talent is so hidden, I don't even know it myself
I am early retired
I love it, with my family, to arrange the everyday life wittily by humorous ideas
My role models are Goethe (writer), Beethoven (composer) and Kant (philosopher)

I'm happy about every postcard you send me. Even homemade ones. Just as I think that everyone is welcome in this world, I welcome any card you send me. I would be happy to hear any little thing from your life.

I hope my English will be good enough for exchanching postcards.
I am trying to find a letter friend and send a letter (snail mail) from time to time. If you could imagine this for you too, please send me a message.

"Sometimes no person is further away from us than the person next to us. But with a postcard or a letter even the most distant person is a guest in our house."

PS: It is inexplicable to me: humans have flown to the moon and back again. But they can't manage to deliver a simple postcard anywhere in the world. So many postcards lost in space!

Have a nice day!
Your Thomas

"The most dangerous worldview is the worldview of those who have not viewed the world"
