About Susanne...
Hello,
my name is Susanne and I like to travel, hike, read and cook.
Writing postcards started for me as a way to show my family and friends what I've seen and experienced during my travels. Therefore I’ll be happy to receive a nice viewcard or anything related to folk arts & traditions from your town/region/country and would appreciate it if you would explain what I see on the postcard.
Besides viewcards I'd be happy to receive postcards related to the following topics:
While traveling I love to visit historical monuments, museums etc. My family never understood where I got this from, because they rather be lazy on vacation, but postcards related to this, to ancient cultures as well as
- UNESCO World Heritage Sites (http://whc.unesco.org/en/list)
will be appreciated.
Not all my travels are culture related, I also enjoy being out in nature and did some hiking holidays. Furthermore I have a degree in Biology, therefore the following postcards would be nice too:
- landscape and wildlife photography
For 6 years I have lived in Yokohama, Japan and since then I also visited several other Asian countries, therefore I would enjoy postcard related to
- Japanese/Asian culture
When traveling I also enjoy to visit local markets to see what kind of food can be found. Some of it looks strange or even weird to my eyes but it is really interesting to see, so I'd like to receive
- food related postcards (food photography, recipe cards, typical food of your country, market views...)
Having grown up with a father who loved SF & Fantasy novels and even favored watching Star Trek Classics during its TV premiere although soccer was broadcasted on the other TV channel at the same time, I became a fan of
- Stars as in Star Trek, Star Wars, Stargate - and of course the real ones
- Fantasy 'classics' like 'Lord of the Rings' and 'Song of Ice and Fire' (better known as 'Games of Thrones') and many other SF & Fantansy novels, movies and TV shows
But keep in mind that this is only a wish list, so don’t worry if you can’t send that kind of postcard.
However, at least as important as the picture on the card is what you write on the back. I'll love to learn about other people's countries and cultures!
日本人へ:どうぞ日本語で書いて下さい。
Please date your postcard. And although I don’t collect stamps I enjoy nice ones:)
Thanks and best wishes,
