About Astrid...

I am Astrid, I am a teacher, I love children and education. I am married 35 years and we have 7 children, one daughter, the oldest, and 6 sons. Four of them are married, we have 5 grandsons and 3 granddaughters, in the range of just born to 12 y.o. And another grandson on the way, due in December.

I like schoolhouses/classrooms and where I go, I look for them, and if possible I visit a schoolmuseum or a museum of education. I am quite curious how the schoolsystem in your country is, what materials did you use, how many classes were there in your school?

Maybe because I am a teacher and love education, I am always on the lookout to learn something new, like a new language, or about history and countries, Learning is fun!

In my married live we moved eight times, also abroad. Sometimes it is difficult to leave everything you know behind, but on the other hand we got to learn new countries, new people, new ways of living and thinking, that made us the people we are now!

I am a Christian (protestant). My avator is a tiny piece of the Bible. A few of my favorite Scriptures are Psalm 23:1 (The Lord is my Shepherd. It is my wedding sermon Scripture), Collossions 3:3-4 (we are saved by Jesus, He is our live and we will live with Him forever). If you are interested you can read them in the Bible, which is the best kept old book there is. If you have a favorite Scipture, please write it to me, I love to read your favorite Scripture.

In my spare time one of my favorites is reading books, history novels, espescially those who really took place. But I also like to read all kind of books with interesting facts about geography or explanation about the Bible and/or life.

I also like to play boardgames: Charterstone, Kingdomino, Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, Love Letter, Celestia, Solo and a lot more.

Another favorite is writing letters and postcards, ofcourse on this website, but also to friends and family who live farther away or simply need some encouragement.

Thank you for reading my profile, you are almost finished ;-) After reading you know a little bit who I am. So, whatever card you think will fit me best, you send to me. Thanks for taking the time to search, write and send me a card, I appreciate that very much. Me and my mailbox are looking forward to receive cards.

Blessings to you.
