OMG Linda, I lost your last message to me. We must email I'm OK with doing that, just got a message I can't send emails.
In the meantime, just returned from a mini vaca to Mt Hood.
Brought my radio in case of emergency. - none happened. I have a hand held transceiver powered by batteries. Connected to a diamond mag mount 1/4 wave antenna. No worries, no need to understand, just think the radio needs an antenna. Signal goes to a repeater that re-transmit my signal wide and far for maybe up to 150 miles to other hams in other locations. Complicated but simple believe!!! The basic radio for anyone. Now to organize my day and sorry I did what I did with your last response. Usually I'm extremely 100% reliable. Barbara
