I am an adoptee. The adoption agency said that my heritage was Austrian and Irish. When I found my birthmother, she said that we were Czechoslovakian. I took me some time to understand that my grandfather immigrated from the Austro Hungarian Empire. He listed Strážske Slovakia as his former place of residence. We visited Strážske several years ago. When we went to find a place to stay for the night we went through Vol'a just to the south. I asked my husband to pull over at a cemetery in Vol'a and my family name was on multiple headstones. On the other side when I found my father, he told me that I was English, Irish French and German. I am a real mutt - multi ethnic.
