Hi my name is Richard and I'm 60 years old. I'm currently retired and handicapped due to an illness. I'm currently in a wheelchair but hope to soon be out of it. I grew up on Long Island, but now live upstate New York in the Lower Hudson Valley. I'm not to far from West Point and go there for football and hockey games. I happen to be a big hockey fan and had season tickets for The New York Islanders for many years. I worked in Manhattan most of my life in the fabric industry as a credit and collections manager. I ended my work career for Blue Cross, Blue Shield, a large health care insurance company.

I love to travel a great deal. My favorite country to visit so far is Ireland. I've been to other countries and islands in the Caribbean...favorite is Aruba. I've also been to most states in my country.

I have never been married and no children. I do have a niece, Caitlin, who is like a daughter to me. My brother and I raised her for the most part.

As I said I'm disabled. I'm a very bad diabetic. I lost my right leg and part of my left foot so far to the illness and also loosing my eyesight.
I also love to read. Thank God for audiobooks.

I'm now up to about 150,000 postcards in my own collection. Ireland still out in front with close to 3,000 cards alone. The most from any one country except the United States.

I would like to ask everyone if they could send me postcards from my list or a tourist 0r famous spot in your country, a country you visited, or any other country you like. I really do not like receiving cards with a message like keep calm or how to change the world. I use to travel a great deal and I do not right now. I do my traveling through postcards now. I LOVE to get a postcard of a famous or not so famous town or village or an out of the way or unknown island in the South Pacific or Caribbean. The Eifel Tower, The Forbidden City, Big Ben, The Waterford Factory, a Bull Fight, The Pieta, A world's Fair card, an Ice Hockey card...and so on. I think you get what I mean. I am loosing my eyesight and would love to see beautiful things and places as long as possible...Thank you so much!!
