About Arlene...

This is a big year for me! I turned 50 in April and my 30th wedding anniversary is in October! In July I suffered a stroke and have had to learn to read and write again....Postcrossing has helped me practice my writing. Our son was married at the beginning of September this year too. This year I have decided to say "yes" to everything I can physically do and or am afraid to do!

This is a wonderful video showing my part of the world entitled "Born to wonder" enjoy

We live in the south central part of British Columbia. The Okanagan valley is also called the "desert of Canada". Our temperatures in the summer can go up to +40C and in the winter can go down to -40C. We get snow every winter, but some are whiter than others. Our town is a tourist spot as people love the beaches of Lake Okanagan and the skiing at BIG WHITE ski slopes.
Here is a video showing my town

I have been married 30 years this October. We met in high school when I was 15 and he was 17 ( you can say we actually grew up together and we been together 35 years now). We have 2 grown children and share our home with 1 dog and 2 cats.

I enjoy reading, writing and doing crafts. I enjoyed doing scrapbooking in previous years, but do to my physical disabilities, I have not been able to do Postcrossing is my new love!

May I first and foremost express that I am willing to swap, but the one and only thing I am willing to swap is postcards. Postage in Canada, to international countries, is very expensive so I am not able to send more than a postcard. Please do not message me with requests for teabags, money (banknotes or coins), seeds or magnets etc.I will not be able to do this, so if you want someone to help you with this DO NOT ASK ME. Thank you.

I would be more then happy with any type of postcard (except advertising and rude cards), but if you'd like some suggestions, I would love to see:
- cards with bright colours (THIS IS MY FAVORITE)
- cards with things that are meaningful to you
-whimsical cards
-funny cards
-cards that make you happy

One of my favorite quotes is:
"Always listen to your heart. It's on your left side but it will always be RIGHT."
