About Walter...

Hallo and greetings from Germany.

My name is Walter.

Stuttgart is my hometown, a city of 550.000 inhabitants at the southern part of Germany. A region of wine, but also famous for a great beer-festival for two weeks every autumn, called "Cannstatter Wasen" (Bigger than the "Oktoberfest" at Munich!).
Stuttgart has two universities, opera, two musical-theaters and one beautiful zoo with botanical garden. And the headquarters of "Mercedes" and "Porsche" are located here. But I drive only a small car.
From the local airport I started travelling all over the world. The favourite is New York. In 2012 we went from New York to Hamburg by ship („Queen Mary 2“). In the last few years we visited as tourists South Africa, Namibia, Peru, Cuba, India, Myanmar, Japan, South Korea, the „EXPO 2010“ at Shanghai and many countries in Europe.

Important for me is my wife, family and friends.

One of my hobbies is collecting postcards, (new) stamps, FDC's and coins/banknotes.
In times of e-mails the postcrossing-project is a good idea !!!!

On vacation outside of Germany one of my first visit is the local post office to send me a letter or postcard at my hometown.

You can do a favour by sending a postcard showing:

- a cartoon or comic or anime
- a movie star (female) or movie-scene
- pin up's
- funny or crazy things
or some interesting landscapes or buildings of your hometown or country ....

and please put more then only one nice stamp on the postcard. Please do not use computer generated stamps!

Thank you very much for greetings from all over the world.

I will be happy about all the cards and stamps send to me !!!!!

Every card makes me happy !
But I don’t put every card on my favorites. It is not because I don’t like it – Don’t be disappointed – but there are so many. And there are always very personal reasons to make a card favorite.

Have a nice day and thank you for sending me a card/message.

NOTE: If you have send me a postcard and I have not registered it, please let me know.
